    Summary/Objective
    Senior Managing Directors (SMD) are responsible for hiring, training, managing and building Ascent’s sales and delivery organization to support current clients and the acquisition and development of new clients. SMD’s have profit and loss responsibility for their line of business and are expected to manage revenue, headcount and gross margin growth while simultaneously managing employee payroll and overall expenses in a fiscally responsible manner and in line with the annual budget. In addition, SMD’s are accountable for managing key company initiatives and the execution of those initiatives as directed by Ascent’s CEO, VP of Sales and Delivery and the executive leadership team.

    Essential Functions

    • Drive and manage the overarching strategy for how to maximize Ascent’s expansion within a business line.
    • Manage the operational P&L to ensure contribution margin and employee productivity objectives are being met.
    • Identify, train and direct the efforts of the Recruiting Delivery Managers, Team Leads and Account leads or other direct reports.
    • Manage all direct and indirect reports to ensure proper utilization of all Ascent tools and resources. Ensure all team members are educated on Ascent internal policies, processes and presenting Ascent in consistent and professional manner.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity when working with internal and external customers, including direct reports.
    • Hire, train and manage a productive and scalable delivery organization able to service an existing and expanding client base.
    • Measure progress on specific sourcing and recruiting objectives relating to: Outbound calls
    • Candidate profile build-outs
    • Submittals
    • Interviews
    • Placements
    • Minimum gross margins
    • Weekly margin spreads
    • Hire, train and manage sales functions for new client acquisition and expansion within existing clients and in support of the Director of Strategic Sales (DSS) key accounts.
    • Measure progress on specific objectives relating to: Growth of “active managed contacts”
    • Tasks for contact 90 days out
    • Outbound calls
    • Notes for contact past 90 days
    • New Client Meetings
    • New Requirements
    • Placements
    • Minimum gross margins
    • Weekly margin spreads
    • Expanding services within the client
    • In collaboration with the Director of Strategic Sales, create and execute a plan to meet the following objectives; Ensure consistent delivery on assigned Ascent key clients and that delivery goals and expectations are being met.
    • Partner with the DSS team to provide sales support to expand hiring manager relationships at Ascent key clients.
    • Partner with the DSS team to build out organization charts, key projects and initiatives that create growth opportunities at Ascent key accounts.
    • Partner with the DSS team to provide account feedback on performance and obstacles.
    • Attend score card meetings with DSS as needed.
    • Participate in client meetings as needed.
    • In collaboration with the heads of AWF, SSG and ETT, ensure sales resources are adequately trained and promoting these service lines to our clients.
    • Present to Ascent’s ELT monthly progress updates on acquisition and growth as it relates to the annual strategic business plan.

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position manages a team of Account Executives, Account Managers, Recruiters and depending upon team size, Team Leads or other supervisors/managers.

    Work Environment
    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Team Members are expected to work a minimum 8-hour day between the core hours of 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM. As an exempt employee you are expected to put in sufficient hours to meet your position requirements and meet or exceed performance metrics.

    Travel

    • Local travel and interstate travel is expected for this position, up to 50% to visit clients, attend corporate meetings and trade shows.
    • Required Education and Experience
    • College degree or a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
    • Preferred Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in the staffing industry.
