IT Ascent, Inc. Sponsors The 2008 Rocky Mountain Project Mangement Symposium

Denver, CO, April 1, 2008 – IT Ascent, Inc. sponsored the 2008 Rocky Mountain Project Management Symposium in Denver, CO on April 11, 2008 at the Denver Convention Center. In addition to sponsorship, IT Ascent also participated in the event as a featured speaker IT Ascent Director of IT Portfolio Management and VMS Delivery Solutions, Jean Gehring spoke on the topic of “The Hybrid PMO” in today’s world of Project Management.  Jean Gehring said regarding the event “The Denver Symposium has grown into a premier educational and networking event. I was very impressed with the mix of topics and caliber of fellow presenters.  It was a pleasure to participate in this event and I look forward to attending and supporting the event next year.”

Topic: The Hybrid PMO
While the traditional PMO has become a familiar organization within most companies, chaotic business environments and ever-changing technologies are rapidly driving the next generation of PMO’s and project management practices. The ‘Hybrid’ PMO is here – it requires flexible roles and innovative functions focused on delivering more with less. It’s responsible for multi-work environments, and a host of performance management services including workforce management.

The presentation was designed to anticipate and answer the questions associated with the creation and implementation of a “Hybrid” PMO. Understanding that each PMO organization is unique, the presentation provided a framework to help assess the PMO environment and craft a customized “Hybrid” PMO model to serve an organization’s long-term vision.

The session identified; 5 characteristics of a ‘Hybrid’ PMO, 5 general types of work found in a ‘Hybrid’ PMO environment, the key concerns of project management within a ‘Hybrid’ PMO, and outline the critical steps necessary to craft or enhance a next-generation PMO.
